Maxine Eloise Carter

	Maxine Eloise Carter, 94, of Elkville, passed away at 1:05 P.M., Sunday, July 4, 2004 at her residence.
	Maxine had owned and worked at her beauty shop for thirty-five years.  She was a member of Elkville Baptist Church and was baptized in 1923.
	She was born May 19, 1910 at Swanwick, IL, the daughter of William and Ina (Harmes) Carlock.
	She married Harrell Arkell Carter on October 7, 1928 at Elkville, IL and he preceded her in death on August 9, 1980.
	She is survived by two daughters - Mary Ina Breeding of Bear, Delaware and Glenna Thronton and husband Tom of Elkville, one brother - Robert Carlock and wife Marceline of Newark, Ohio, one sister-in-law - Joann Carlock of Du Quoin, six grandchildren - Tom and Andrea Polisky of Creal Springs, IL, Phila Calahan of Wilmington, Delaware, Dane Caupert of Pinckneyville, Gina and Matt Brown of Du Quoin, Kelly Mullins of Wilmington, Delaware and Gaye Lynn Thornton of Elkville., eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters - Agna Fox and Norma Wright and one brother - William Carlock.
	Funeral services were at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the Elkville Baptist Church in Elkville with Rev. Daryl Williams officiating.
	Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin and from 10 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
	Interment was in the Elkville Cemetery at Elkville.
